SHARING HEALTH SUMMARIES TO IMPROVE PATIENT CARE.

HASA is a non-profit community collaborative initiative created by Baptist Health System, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa,

Methodist Healthcare System, University Health System, Methodist Healthcare Ministries, CommunicareSA, CentroMed, Daughter of Charity San Antonio, Southwest Texas Network and San Antonio MetroHealth Department.   HASA operates a shared patient data repository to assist providers like you in viewing a longitudinal patient profile by aggregating patient information from all stakeholder sources.  With its mission initially focused on the uninsured, HASA will expand its data aggregation to include Medicare, Medicaid and commercially insured patients as well.

Health Information Exchange is the latest buzz word to indicate the ability for providers to see patient records from many providers in our service area in an aggregate format.  Specifically, patient data sharing adds value to practicing physicians by:

•             Reducing staff time to chase down known but unavailable patient information

•             Increase patient communication by having patient information at your finger tips

•             Simplify your ability to meet Meaningful Use criteria and thus receive federal incentives

•             Enhance patient outcomes through more extensive patient medical information
