BCMS Public Health/Patient Advocacy Committee


Purpose: To evaluate and make recommendations to the Board of Directors and the membership of the Bexar County Medical Society Reguarding:

• Public health issues affecting our community and patient population, including

• Public health infrastructure

• Community preventive services

• Health concerns related to environmental exposure and incidents

• Linking public health and patient advocacy opportunities for ongoing activities related to

• Health promotion

• Risk communication

• Patient and employer satisfaction

• Cost benefit measures and Health concerns

The Chair and Vice Chair are appointed by the BCMS President. All other members are selected by the President based on intrest, time and commitment.

Meets bimonthly on the last Monday of each month at 6:30 PM, beginning in February.

The required attendance commitment for committee participation is 50%. expected committee attendance participation is at least 75% during the year.
