Message from Steve Fitzer-Executive Director About BCMS-The Society Emergency Preparedness Legislative Affairs

Every year, Bexar County Medical Society members have the opportunity to participate in a variety of committees that deal with issues specific to health care, medicine, and physicians, ranging from managed care (Socioeconomics/Legislative) to medical topics that affect access to health care (Public Health and Patient Advocacy, Emergency Medical Services, etc.). Active participation in the BCMS will strengthen the voice of organized medicine nationwide.

Please take a moment to review the list of our committees. We are sure you will find one that deals with a topic that is of interest to you.

Not only do we want our members to participate in our committees, we also encourage our student members, residents, and fellows to participate in BCMS committees as a method of developing leadership skills. These are unique opportunities for all members to have an active voice and make an impact on the role Bexar County Medical Society plays in medicine in our community and with each other

If you would like to become a member of a committee, please email BCMS at bcms@bcms.org or call (210) 301-4373 and let us know your preference. Also please indicate if you would like to be considered to Chair a committee in the future.
