The Business of Medicine:
Entry & Exit
Greetings from the Bexar County Medical Society.
We at the Society are proud to have you as a member, and want to make you aware of a new, free service available to you. A new service we started this year is listing physician practices for sale in the Bexar County area. You can see these listings by visiting our Medical Classifieds. There you will find brief descriptions of the practices for sale. If you are interested in talking with the practice owners, please contact me and we can start the process of getting you in touch with them. While BCMS does not represent the buyers or sellers of medical practices, we are acting as a conduit to put buyers and sellers together.
To prepare for starting a medical practice or closing a practice, please read the articles I have written the 2007 issues of San Antonio Medicine magazine about the business of medicine (click here for articles). The articles deal with subjects such as starting up a new practice, valuing a physician practice, using consultants and business advisors, how the practice listing service works, physicians as employees, and many other subjects. You can view the current issue of San Antonio Medicine magazine online at www.sanantoniomedicine.com.
We at Bexar County Medical Society care about you as a physician, and want to support you in any way we can. Another service for you to check into that may save you a lot of money is the BCMS Automobile program. This is a free concierge service for our members to help them get great deals on new cars. We can also find great financing or lease rates for you. Please call our Auto Program manager, Phil Hornbeak, at (210) 301-4367 anytime. Yes, even weekends and evenings.
Thanks again for being part of organized medicine. It is the only way we can effectively protect the practice of medicine for both physicians and patients.
