The Foundation was created in 1995 by the Bexar County Medical Society (membership of physicians) and the Bexar County Medical Society Alliance (membership of physician spouses) as the philanthropic arm of the Society. Its mission is to support healthcare issues in the San Antonio community and increase educational opportunities in a healthcare careers. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships to area students pursuing careers in the medical, nursing and other health-related careers and grants to community organizations. |

14th Annual “Making The Rounds” Golf Tournament Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the “Must Play” Quarry Golf Club Morning and Afternoon tee times, all meals provided, helicopter ball drop and other door prizes! Your participation or donation in the competitive scramble will help many young adults create a better tomorrow by aiding them with their endeavors to pursue a career in the medical field. Because of your consideration, the BCMS Foundation was able to give away $76, 000 in scholarships this past June. June 12, 2007 The Bexar County Medical Society Foundation awarded a record $76,000 in scholarships during the scholarship ceremony held at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. Students from 24 high schools in San Antonio and surrounding communities, 2006 scholarship recipients receiving a renewable scholarship, the Project Quest Program and the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio were honored. Students receiving the scholarships were nominated by school and program counselors and plan to pursue careers in the medical, nursing or allied health fields. Scholarship money was also awarded to the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Scholarship Endowment Fund. Special scholarships awarded:
