Vol. 2, No. 52

The value

of your voice

By John K. Wisniewski

BCMS CEO/Executive Director

Earlier this year, a BCMS resolution was adopted at the state level, recommending consolidation of physician and controlled-substance licenses.

The resolution became part of our advocacy effort and was passed into legislation during session. This may seem like a minor convenience, but when staff of 47,000 TMA members each save several hours of effort, it equates to an annuity estimated at more than $1 million.

TMA introduces 'Hey Doc'

ACA Marketplace FAQs

By Mary E. Nava, MBA

Community Relations Officer

With the ACA Marketplace enrollment starting Oct. 1, TMA is launching a new project, "Hey Doc," to arm physicians and patients with printed materials containing answers to frequently asked questions about the ACA insurance marketplaces.

Along with traditional news media, "Hey Doc" also will provide information directly to patients via the Internet, video and social media.

during Sept. 18 BCMS New Member Welcome

One of the sponsors of the Sept. 18 BCMS New Member Welcome, The Growth Coach, will have information available at the event for access to free online CME offerings on business management for your practice.

With the emphasis on value-based performance for reimbursements, it is more important than ever for practices to consider implementing strategies to maximize their incentive payout.

The three articles include: "Social and Emotional Intelligence: Meeting Patients' Emotional Needs," "Strategic Business Management: Why Organizational Health Matters" and "Employee Engagement: The Competitive Edge for Your Practice."

These free online CME offerings explore these issues, offer AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and are intended for physicians.  Stop by The Growth Coach table at the event to discover more ways to boost the performance of your practice.
