Doctors: Put this on your practice to-do list if you haven't already:

Get new credit card processing equipment and software to accept new microchip credit cards

By Mary E. Nava, MBA

Chief Governmental and Community Relations Officer

With banks everywhere now switching to microchip-based credit cards as a way to reduce fraud, it's time to think about updating your current credit card processing equipment in your offices. Setting up a chip card terminal now can protect your practice from possible financial liability later. But beware, there are some scams out there, as TMA has learned. Your best source of information for converting to the new technology will be the payment processing service you are using currently.

To access additional information from TMA, including an article from Modern Healthcare on this subject, click here

For local discussion on this and other practice management topics, consider joining the BCMS Legislative and Socioeconomics Committee by contacting Mary Nava.
