It's time to re-enroll in Medicaid as required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services

By Mary E. Nava, MBA

Chief Governmental and Community Relations Officer

Just a reminder that if you enrolled in Medicaid prior to Jan. 1, 2013, you are required to re-enroll by March 24, 2016 in order to stay in the program.  This is in accordance with a  new CMS requirement under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

You may begin re-enrollment anytime, but bear in mind that it can take up to 60 days to get your application processed.  TMA has compiled information in the following link to help you in this process, including links to the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) main provider webpage and additional guidelines if you enrolled or re-enrolled on or after Jan. 1, 2013.

For local discussion on this and other practice management topics, consider joining the BCMS Legislative and Socioeconomics Committee by contacting Mary Nava.

FISHING TRIP

Another BCMS Fishing Trip is  the books and it was another great year fishing. We had some familiar faces out there as well as some new comers to our little trip. Dr. Mein caught the largest Redfish (pictured above), but that was far from the largest fish caught. Some of the other fishermen and women got into some very large Black Drum, a few were over the 40-inch mark. From what I hear, that made for some long fights trying to get the fish in the boat.

The weather was nice and the slight breeze made for a comfortable day, but also made it a bit of a rough ride out in the bay. Hope to see you all next year.

Want to go next time? Keep an eye out for info on the next trip in a future issue of The Weekly Dose.

We want to thank our sponsors for the 2015 BCMS Fishing Trip: RBFCU Business Solutions (rbfcu.org) and SeeKing HR (seekinghr.com). Without their continued support and that of the other Circle of Friends sponsors, events like this would not be possible.
