fun time was had by all at the BCMS New Member Welcome/Casino Night
on June 1 hosted by University of Incarnate Word in the Rosenberg Sky
Room.
Jason Siegel with Greenway Health and

Member Welcome event. BCMS President Dr. Jayesh Shah and his wife

Legislative and Socioeconomics Committee
busy
meeting with elected officials
The
BCMS Legislative and Socioeconomics Committee continues its work to
prepare for the upcoming legislative session in January and recently
met with State Representative-elect Diana Arevalo (District 116) to
update her on the latest issues of importance to medicine, including
balance billing, scope of practice, network adequacy, Medicaid and
access to care.
For
local discussion on these and other legislative advocacy topics,
consider joining the BCMS Legislative and Socioeconomics Committee by

Members of the BCMS Legislative and

BCMS Publications Committee is considering producing an issue of the
magazine San
Antonio Medicine on the subject
of Electronic Medical Records.
We
would like to have your take on them and would appreciate comments
and opinions from both those who like them and those who hate them.
Please send your thoughts and experiences in an email to our editor.
We
may or may not use your notes when we do the issue, but we believe
that your input would be helpful.
