The 85th Texas Legislature is in session so mark your calendars now and make plans to join us for the First Tuesdays visits to the Capitol on Feb. 7, March 7, April 4 and May 2, 2017. 

BCMS teams are forming now.  If you are interested in participating with your colleagues or if you have a personal relationship with any of our elected officials from Bexar County, then we want to hear from you!  Come join us to advocate on behalf of medicine’s issues!

FEMA COURSE

                                     

Medical Management of CBRNE Events

Participants completing this program will be able to properly perform patient triage, decontamination, treatment, and transportation in the event of exposure to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) weapons.

MedDropSA

San Antonio Water System’s 24th MedDropSA event  on Jan. 21 resulted in 3,232 lbs. collected, with 81 boxes used. The next HHW (household hazardous waste) mobile event is scheduled for Brooks City Base on May 20, 2017 at 8261 Boyle Rd.

 The number of vehicles participating in the event:

  • Customers who had only HHW items: 109
  • Customers who had only Medicines/MedDropSA: 625
  • Customers who had Both HHW and Medicines: 201


Grand total – 935

LECTURE SERIES

The Health Cell, an organization that promotes professional development and collaboration across the City’s health sector, is sponsoring a series of talks by six local professionals on the State of the Industry on Feb. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Westin Riverwalk.
