Feb.
First Tuesdays now in the books The first ‘First Tuesdays’ of the 86th
Legislative Session took place on Feb. 5. Physicians, BCMS Alliance
members and students participated in several meetings with legislators and
staff. A number of topics were discussed, including: Graduate
medical education (GME); physician loan repayment; Medicaid reimbursement;
maternal mortality and telemedicine. Many thanks to the attendees, who made
our visits at the Capitol a success: Physicians - Dan Deane, MD;
Pam Hall, MD; Alex Kenton, MD; Jayesh Shah, MD and John Shepherd, MD; Alliance
members – James Duerr; Jennifer Lewis and Jenny Shepherd; and medical
