Call for Award Nominations

Golden Aesculapius Award

In 1980, the Bexar County Medical Society established the Golden Aesculapius Award as our highest honor recognizing a lifetime of distinguished service by a BCMS member to our patients and our profession. This award is not given annually but only upon the occasion of nomination and confirmation of distinguished service.

Deadline is Dec. 31.

Distinguished Service Award

At the January 13, 2009, meeting of the BCMS Past Presidents Advisory Council, the BCMS Distinguished Service Award was established. The first recipient of the BCMS Distinguished Service Award was William H. “Bill” Hinchey, MD. Award presented at the Installation of Officers.

Send nominations to BCMS@BCMS.ORG.

Tobacco21 Action Alert

The vote for Tobacco21 has been moved to January 11. There is now a new “email the council” tool with different emails of support for city council.  It will be very important for city council to continue to get emails of support for T21 between now and January 11 and we need your help.  Can you please:

  1. Complete the new email the council alert (even if you already did the previous one)
    1. http://act.yourethecure.org/e0A7VAe
  2. Get 5-10 of your friends, family, contacts to complete it as well.

For more information on this and other activities of the BCMS or to learn more about how you can get involved, contact Mary Nava, BCMS chief government affairs officer at mary.nava@bcms.org.
